I just aquired a 95 Civic 4 door. I'm wanting to mod it a bit, try to give it a bit more zip. Where should I start? What would be the first thing you would do? Or am I just dreaming and without major modifications it will always be slow?

Thanks

You could get an intake, header, and exhaust, but you'd be lucky to see 10hp. It would make for a very annoying Civic. The cheapest way to make power is to go nitro, and there is a whole forum for that. A "mini me" swap will bring you to stock EX horsepower, but you won't have EX/Si gearing (BTW, what trim do you have, EX, LX, DX?).

A B series swap would be ideal. If you buy a low mileage JDM engine, it's $2000 for a B16 or B18 non vtec and $3,000 for a B18 vtec.

You can find them for less if you search the classifieds of SHO, team - integra .net, and honda - tech .com. For example, there is a B18 VTEC with tranny, a new clutch, and a new flywheel for sale in the classifieds for $1,300. If you want more info on anything I mentioned, search using google and the SHO search feature, and ask us if you have any questions that haven't been answered.
