Hey, I was just looking for some suggestions on which short shifter to get for my `94 Civic EX. I've heard that DC sports makes a good one but what else is good? thanks.

SKUNK2 is the ONLY way to go, IMO...

I saw this coming a mile away.

Skunk2 does make an excellent short throw. DC also makes a great short throw, I have one myself, and are about $40 less than a Skunk2, and you can get the DC knob for around $35. Also Neuspeed makes a good short throw, and every now and then on www.groupbuycenter.com there is a BUY were you get free shifter bushings with the purchase of the short throw.
I am just proud of my B&M
I got a Tenzo short throw shifter. Qualitly wise not as good as the others, but its got a shorter throw than any other i've tried - and it was cheap !!!!. But the stupid thing hangs too low and rubs against by B pipe and I got this annoying rattle in my car now. Im gonna swap it out for a DC Sports.
I just installed a Neuspeed short shifter for my car, and it was one of the great mods I've done. Shorter throws and precise shifting.
APC makes a good shortshifter too! :D :D have it and its great
so what shifters are ppl having probs with hitting the b-pipe? is this on stock exhaust setups or is a catback/custom piping involved?
i got one off ebay and i love it .. seems to be working fine, i have to go under the car and cut the heat sheild away so it would stop rattling.. once that was done.. smooth sailing

i just got my skunk on this weekend, i REALLY like the shifter, but it was hitting the b-pipe, luckly i also had a jdm 4-1 header put on this weekend too, so while i was haveing my cat moded to fit the new header we also moved the piping a tiny bit to the side, and now it's a perfect fit, it's now C'z but then again i didn't have to pay $300 for it eather, but i'll say this if you can afford it look into the c'z and if you can't b&m also make a shifter with the bearings already on the shifter, which means it'll for sure out last most other shifters out there, including mine...

i like the design of the DC but it's a lot lighter than any of the other shifters i've seen, also i was scared away from them because i've heard about to many ppl breaking em off...
Re:

B&M is the way to go!
thanks

thanks for the help ppl. How much was the Skunk2? and what's the "C'z" that you mentioned? Oh and don't the bushings come w/the shifter? Or have to buy them seperate?
once again, thanks for the input.
hey, 96-vtec-si,
i have a tenzo short shifter and it does has the same problems!!! this annoying rattle unless i hold the knob, and hitting the b-pipe..... sucks like a biotch!!
I have heard of a lot of people snapping the dc sports shifters as well. I'd stick with the skunk 2, that's what i'll be getting. Make sure you get new urethane bushings when you get it though.
