how can the ratio be accurate if it doesnt take torque into account?

wouldnt : VEHICLE WEIGHT / (TORQUE + HP / 2)

be a more precise equation than:

VEHICLE WEIGHT / HP

because HP = Torque * RPM / 5,252 ?


becuase hp IS torque sort of?
