i just got dsl on my desktop computer and i got a laptop with wireless nic. how can i set up my laptop to go wireless online also? my friend did this to his laptop and it can pick up signal from anywhere. i mean he can go online at starbucks, at school, or at home wireless. what do i need to accomplish this?

you need to get a wireless router for your home if you wanna connect at home. your computer should automatically detect a wireless network anywhere. all you have to do is specify it to connect to it.

yeah i'm planning to get wireless router with 2 wireless nic card because i got 2 desktop. the laptop doesnt connect anywhere. it cant locate a point to connect. how can you set it up to make it work?
