I'm getting rid of my d15b7 to put in a d16z6. i need to know if i need a new ecu, wiring harness, and how i wire v-tech. thanks.

you need

p28 ecu obd1

there are two wires that run from the vtec soleniod (the greeen plug)
you need to extend and run those two wires into the cab.


those two wires run to the pins on the ecu (a4 and d6)
one controls the vtec soleniod and the other is the oil pressure switch
i am uncertain of wire color to wire color

thanks, i'll start looking for that ecu. so i can use the same wiring harness?

yeah you CAN use the same harness. however if your car isnt prewired for vtec. some are somea arent. then it gets annoying. i jacked the ecu plugs for a 95 civic ex from a junk yard and just ran the two vtec wires directly from the soleniod to the new plug. and viola.

when you look at your ecu you have three plugs. i clipped those from an ex because i didnt want to repin my shit so i could run vtec. so i spliced the new clips in and ran the new wires straight from the new ecu plugs to the vtec soleniod wires.

plus i dont know how to pin an ecu sooo haha
