No need for a T4, nor really ball bearing. Esp on the size turbo you will need for under 300whp

 

people make 500+ hp and run 10's with T3/T4's. you'll be fine with something alot smaller. and depending on what spool time you're trying to achieve, a ball bearing turbo isn't needed either like itr206 previously stated. like an sc61 t3/t4 on a gsr makes full boost around 4500rpms. some may think that's a lil late. but its nice if you dont wanna be in boost all the time, especially with gas prices these days =)

 

i was under the impression that BB turbos were supposed to spool up earlier.

 

they do spool up faster, but alot of people dont think its worth the extra $500-700. and they cost more to rebuild =) my next turbo next season might be ball bearing, but thats only cuz i'm trying to go with a big T4 650+whp setup

yeah i was aware of the rebuilding issue. on average dont they spool 700+rpm faster?

 

I heard from Precision directly that they only spool like 3-400rpm quicker and from the horses mouth that its not worth the extra money.
