Usually with the Pioneer's Premier line, you will get an extra a feature or two plus an extended warranty.
The major difference between the 740 and the 7400 is that the 740 has 3 4-volt preouts as oppose to 2 2-volt preouts. Plus the Premier 740 comes with a 2 year warranty.
