why would you do that? cheapest bang for buck mod......and it will cost less than an n/a build if you want any substantial usable power

ditch the exhaust and use the money for a reflash and intake and header. you can pick up over 20whp with that combo. seriously even 330 hp infiniti v6's gain nothing from the catback exhaust mods. you will gain sound.

okay. the reflash runs about $295 which is not a bad price at all.. i want to stay around 1,00-1,300 price range for all 3 mods
good luck... and you have to re-flash every time you mod......it adds up exhaust is a waste until you make serious power, intake i would just go generic route and not aem. the header is the thing i wouldn't cheap out on.

but you're spending over 1000 dollars for 20-25 hp. kind of pricey if you ask me. would be better spent doing a suspension setup first and then saving for FI then you'll be fast and not just make more hp

suspension always first on the list, you don't have to spend thousands of dollars on some of these sets, eibach makes a kit that comes with struts, springs, and dampners all around the car for under 500 which is what you would spend if you bought all new struts of one brand and springs of another, plus eibach is not a bad brand.

yea i went generic with the SRI i have on there now.. the header i was kinda leaning toward "STRUP" or "BUDDYCLUB".. im gonna do the whole set up then reflash at the end. shooting for next spring to be done

im deffinetley gonna do suspension work.. .probably not gonna drop much if any at all... the rds where i live suck asss.. By the way anybody kno someone with a 1G talon or eclipse... i got a set of 2" Megan Racing drop springs still in box for cheap...

i've preferred dc sport header but everyone's different, and look into how each brand of header will effect different parts of your power curve differently, some you pick up more gains at low end and others mid or high rpm levels.

it's a k20 you can't go cheap. and absolutely do suspension first. the car will be safer and faster with suspension tires and upgraded brake pads

#16 ·
why a brembo brake kit? waste of money. upgraded pads and maybe new blanks is all you need. money is better spent on tires. brakes don't stop your car tires do.

it's ok to cheap out on intake. suspension is what you never ever cheap out on

if you aren't doing extensive tracking then blanks are fine or slotted if you really want upgraded rotors but typically i'd save the money for elsewhere and get nice blanks. just get a nice set of pads and tires and you'll be fine for the occasional driving on the street

btw OP drilled (be careful with drilled as they have been known to crack) or slotted rotors dont really help you brake any better
they just help with heat dispersion so you don't have as much brake fade during heavy use
that's why i asked if he was auto-x or road course

even auto crossing, tracking, I wouldn't do drilled rotors, all they do is look cool and break. I've always heard horror stories. Slotted are the way to go if you must upgrade rotors.

And improve low end on an n/a 2l? very tough thing to do. I'd suggest you buy another car or get boosted, lol.

#34 ·
That can't happen. There is only one car allowed on course at a time, or on larger ones, they will have more than one car, but they will start the 2nd car so far behind you it will never catch up to hit you.

I don't know that I've ever heard of a car on car collision in an auto-x event, ever.

auto cross can be done anywhere, we do ours in large parking lots. You don't need a super special facility, just a large, flat open space clear of obstacles that has a decent surface. I mean, look at my sig pic, thats me auto-x'ing, its just a parking lot.

tho they can be on tracks too, here's a vid of what happens during an auto-x so you kinda get it. This particular one took place on a 1/4 mile paved oval facility:

Here's another fun clip, if you look carefully you can see me almost spin it around, but I saved her with grace, and didn't even nom a single cone! FTW!! haha

lots of douche canoe's are going to be into that wherever you go. Just look up the SCCA chapter or sport car clubs, like BMW club or w/e and see when and where they hold events. My area is SUPER rural, and we can have events, so can you.

Actually, I see you're from MI, I'm a y00per, so I know there are events down state all over the fucking place. I've gone down to Belle Isle a few times, and a few auto-x's down near Canton ane East Lansing.
