need a built f22 to handle high boost? hmm here are my dyno numbers w/ video...

hehehe i'm satisfied.. :)

like i said on the "turbo accords how's it going" thread, my stock block will handle just fine with this amount of boost.

VIDEO: http://www.imagestation.com/vi...77859
on the video i couldn't zoom in the numbers cuz i ran out of memory haha.. 32mb sucks ...

the dyno sheet was printed in MPH not RPMS ... i gotta see if i can get the sheet with RPMS

14psi with 269hp @ 281lbstrq
(stock engine, never opened or touched)

f22 stock can't handle 14 psi huh? hehehe :)

you were running 14 psi on a f22??-in stock form your safe probably up to 6 or 8 psi-do you have it built??-269 hp is a pretty impressive number on a f22-nice

#4 ·
wow-thats hard to believe, but i am impressed-how long have you been running 14 psi, and how many miles on the engine??

#6 ·
hmm...im having some second thoughts now about getting an h22 and just going with turbo on my f22-i just hit 100k miles-but starting off with 200 hp with the h22 is tempting...

spooooooolllll booooooooosssssttttt BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

it will happen. not soon, but over time on teh stock internals.

a few runs on the dyno is not the same thing as running it on the street.

good numbers tho. gl

u have the f22b1 right? a kid on my acura cl board dynoed 253whp at 13psi on stock internals. he also had i/p/e/fpr/cam gear/ignition. havent heard from him in awhile, but he said he ran about 6psi daily.
yeah he's also in my other webboard... i haven't heard him since june 2003...last time i read his post was about his motor being built.

thats what i was kinda figuring on-ill probably be smart and just save up enough cash to get the h22 and get my hp gains that way rather than risking detonation on my f22-thanks ultra-

goodluck on your decision.

my car has no signs of detonation whatsoever.. just as long as it's tuned perfectly.. it'll last a long time. :)

yeah-thanks man-200 hp without any mods on the engine is very tempting to me-besides i already have 100k on my engine-its running very well, but a 40k mile h22 would probably be a wiser choice than to turbo a 100k mile f22-anyway, i wish you good luck with your setup-

100k miles isnt really that much as long as it was mantained right. h22 has 200hp at the flywheel. accordfreak's #'s i assume are WHP. h22 stock will put down anywhere from 160-175WHP depending on its condition.

i will also vouch that f22's can take quite a bit of beating as long as everything is TUNED. ive been spraying on my f22b1 for almost 2 yrs now and it still running strong. i initially planned on spraying for shits and giggles until it blew and then sell the n2o kit and put in an h22 but now im having second thoughts on building the f22 and uping the shot.

before my NX kit, i was putting down 127whp w/ i/h/e/hi-flow cat/ msd. so with my NX 75shot (which NX shots are rated at WHP) i theoretically should be putting down 202WHP.

i spank my friends 5th gen w/ h22 i/h/e all day long and im slowly catching my way up on my friend's b16 EG... ;)

Anyone bored out their F22 to about 90mm and see what kind of HP's they got with all the bolt-ons?

#18 ·
270 hp out of an f22b1.... nice, very nice :tu2:

Very nice, there not too many people who care much for the F22 anymore, it an dying breed. But we are the small resistant group that just won't be throw away:)

impressive number, I have dyno tune my car with 11psi of boost on stock internal. But I alway set it at 6psi for everyday driving, even when racing I set at 9psi I'm too chicken to pump it up to 11psi, but your the man...

how often does do you run on 14psi? once in a while? and for how long in boost? If I floor it halfway I get about 6psi , 3/4 and I get 9psi and 11psi at petal to the medal. But my boost controller is there to keep me safe just in case, I got a heavy foot:)

Im glad to see someone stivking with their F22.....im also boosting mine and im on 7 psi now .......cuz this auto sucks but as soon as i swap in the 5 speed........im upping the boost and tuning the shit out of it.
BTW what is your setup?

#21 ·
heeh nice numbers.. question.. ive heard of people getting their 3" turbo back from accord racing.. i went on their site and didnt see it.. can anyone direct me.. plz..

oh.. as for F series being boosted

how bout a f22b dohc boosting 8psi:D

soon to be continued.....

#22 ·
really nice numbers and it might actually last to 200K, you can never tell, but your chances are as good as your tuning...thing is, when people see things like this, they try it, and most of the time it won't last........the odds are against an f22 lasting very long running 10-14psi........just like most stock motors....just like the h22a, some people have no problem with 12psi but most don't make it long at all, even if they are tuned perfectly......nice though

wow brought back from the dead...

my f22b1 is still running strong..

I run 14psi whenever i feel like playing around.. other than that 12psi daily no problems.. I tend to boost mainly merging on the freeway or pass people up hehe..

as for the 3" turbo back.. i just have a 2.5" with a e-cutout..

my setup:

f22b1 stock engine
t3/t04e (unreleased specs)
equal length manifold
drag piping
custom 2.5"dp w/ e-cutout
drag intercooler
550cc injectors
hondata s200b
paxton fpr
walbro 255 lph fuel pump

one of you spoke about swapping out the auto for the manual...how much is it going to cost for you to switch out the accord auto to a manual? i wanna dothat but i kinda dont know how to drive manual...but i just want some figures here..i would appreciate it. Thanks

#25 ·
well i had an XR4Ti boosting 20psi making over 300whp....SOHC, 2.3 liters, mid 80's design, stock internals......lasted over 100K miles and i sold it, got tired of it.....also had a stock one, good engine, boosting 15psi making about 170whp.....very mild...i tuned both and they were fine.......thing is, it spun a rod bearing after about 20K miles of highway driving......you just can never tell though.....i didn't expect the first setup to last and it did, and the latter setup, well, it was disappointing......that's just how it goes.....i feel like i was lucky the first time and wouldn't expect every 2.3 turbo ford engine to hold up to the same abuse......because they usually don't

it's just that when some people see this and figure they'll give it a try, they will usually end up with less than ideal results, great tuning or not......your setup and it's results are not "the norm"......the f22 isn't a weak engine or anything, but it's nothing amazing either...........sometimes you just get lucky.....

manual tranny = $250 approx....but then you'd probably be better off buying a whole new clutch kit and clutch lines....so look to spend upwards of $500 on misc parts (pedals, lines, flywheel resurfacing plus the clutch kit)
