PS2 Still Dominating Consoles, WoW Tops PC Gaming – Nielsen
Nielsen's latest year-end look at entertainment has revealed that the PS2 remains the king of consoles in terms of usage. In addition, World of Warcraft is the most played PC game, by a big margin.

The researchers at the Nielsen Company have released their year-end look at the most popular trends among Americans during 2007, which covers all sorts of entertainment, including video games.

Interestingly, in terms of console usage, Sony's old PlayStation 2 remains far and away the most popular console. Looking at data from April through November 2007, the PS2 racked 42.2 percent of all measured console usage minutes. Proving that many people still haven't upgraded to the new consoles yet, the second most used console was the original Xbox with 13.9 percent.

The rest of the console list is as follows: Xbox 360 (11.8 percent), GameCube (7.1 percent), Wii (5.5 percent), PlayStation 3 (2.5 percent) and Other (17.1 percent), which "consists of any other console systems found in the home."

The PC games list is perhaps less surprising, as Blizzard's World of Warcraft continues to be a true MMO powerhouse. WoW had a total of 1023 minutes played per week, more than three times as many as the next closest game, The Sims, which had a total of 298 minutes.

Here's the full PC list from Nielsen:
