Helps with more precise boost control and flows better. If you plan on running decent boost don't even think about an internal wastegate
Ahh...ok. I did some more research on an internal wastegate and come to realize that it's not in my best interest. I was planning on purchasing Garrett turbo that actually has an internal wastegate...

If I'm not mistaken I believe you can buy a block off plate for the internal wastegate so it can be removed, then purchase an external wastegate.

Edit: have you decided what setup you're gonna run yet?

you are correct. I simply did a google search. "internal wastegate vs. external wastegate"

Damn that sux!!! Have you considered the block off plate for the internal wastegate so that you can use the external?

ive heard that the 18g has alot of meat in the port for the internal wastegate flap, and many port it out more to run higher amounts of controlled boost. just food for thought.

278whp at 10psi and 9.8 comp. you think at 10.6 compression it will hit 300?

haha Lets put it this way depending on the turbo 10 PSI on 10:1 CR GSR can hit 300whp. So on 10:6 to one with a really good tune you could definitely surpass 300 whp and would have better low-end response while you're below the boost threshold

ok i cant believe no one else has pointed you in this direction....
http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/hobtukit1.html
i know you could probably find it for cheaper at other sites but i know that this place has good customer service
and here is another with the gt28rs that someone else was talking about -- also with an external waste gate (really expensive though)
also if your gonna try to piece everything together checkout
www.cheapturbos.com -- great stuff

with the 18g, still duable? damn greddy needs to make a 22-24g series already, and give them damn numbered stickers with them too! :lmao

I hit 278whp with stock GSR/ with drag kit, running afc hack like almost 4yrs ago. Its easy now these days to hit that power range.
